Obama's Afghan plan: Will it work?

Yesterday Obama anonced he will be sending more than 30,000 troopes to Afganistan. I strongly believe that Obama should have some miltary backround before he trys to boss around the troops. I also think that we sould use our own oil in Alaska, Montana, ect. and not the oil over seas now that would stimulate the economy.

Senate throws a lifeline to the jobless

The senete increased benifits to 20 weeks for the jobless and extended the $8000 tax credit.

I think that the the program is good but the gov. should premote finding a job more than giving them more money.

Teen says he drowned 4-year-old to protect secret, police say

On Friday a fourteen year old boy in califorina drowned his four year old niehbor boy becuase the boy threatened to tell his parents that the other boy molested him.
I think this is very disturbing and that the boy should have to go through phycolgical help and should go to prison.

Yankees win 27th World Series title

The Yankees won their 27th world championship. This is kinda cool becuase it is there first year in the new statium and they won the world championship, just like when it was the first year in the old statium they won then too. The final score of the game was 7-3.

Many people were killed in the tragic event that took place on monday nov. 2 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. At least 35 Were killed and over 65 wounded.

Alex Rodriguez brought the Yankees through the playoffs and to the chance at the 27th title. His first. The winning score was 7-4 against the Phillies. Bringing them to the World Championship.

Obama, Chicago come up short in Olympics bid

In the Olympics bids Chicago came in last against;Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, Madrid-Spain, Tokyo-Japan. Rio de Janerio came out on top to host the games. Even after the Obamas talked to the Olympics board they fail to bring the games to their home town.

I think its a good thing that the olimpics arn't in Chigago, becuase the Olymics are very exensive and i think that would send the wrong message to the people. Even though your in tough times its ok to spend millions or maybe billions on sports.

Race and politics in the age of Obama

In the artical much of it is focused on Obama being criticed for his race. it is also on Obama having to take racism by being the first black president.

I think that Obama is reall pushing the heath care and hoping no one will oppose him becuase he can call them raciest. I think that the health care plan just isn'tt meant to be. Afterall the past 7 president have tried to have heath care plans, but they have all failed.

U.S. proposes more anti-nuclear efforts at U.N.

In a draft proposed by the US it says they want to cut down amounts of nucelar weopons and eventualy eliminate them. They want US and Russia to down size there nucelar asenal. By proposing this to the UN the goal is to make the world a safer place.
I think it has its benifits, but it also has downsides. for example the world would be safer if no one and nuclear weapons. The only problem is the US or Russia wont get rid of all their neclear weapons. Becuase then if some one else didnt git rid of there nukes we would be less powerful. thats why I'm leaning towards keeping the Nukes.
