Obama, Chicago come up short in Olympics bid

In the Olympics bids Chicago came in last against;Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, Madrid-Spain, Tokyo-Japan. Rio de Janerio came out on top to host the games. Even after the Obamas talked to the Olympics board they fail to bring the games to their home town.

I think its a good thing that the olimpics arn't in Chigago, becuase the Olymics are very exensive and i think that would send the wrong message to the people. Even though your in tough times its ok to spend millions or maybe billions on sports.

Race and politics in the age of Obama

In the artical much of it is focused on Obama being criticed for his race. it is also on Obama having to take racism by being the first black president.

I think that Obama is reall pushing the heath care and hoping no one will oppose him becuase he can call them raciest. I think that the health care plan just isn'tt meant to be. Afterall the past 7 president have tried to have heath care plans, but they have all failed.

U.S. proposes more anti-nuclear efforts at U.N.

In a draft proposed by the US it says they want to cut down amounts of nucelar weopons and eventualy eliminate them. They want US and Russia to down size there nucelar asenal. By proposing this to the UN the goal is to make the world a safer place.
I think it has its benifits, but it also has downsides. for example the world would be safer if no one and nuclear weapons. The only problem is the US or Russia wont get rid of all their neclear weapons. Becuase then if some one else didnt git rid of there nukes we would be less powerful. thats why I'm leaning towards keeping the Nukes.
